Our Educational Program
I would like to briefly review and reacquaint you with our education program at CBRYouthConnect in La Junta, Colorado. CBRYouthConnect is pleased to be celebrating our 50th Anniversary of serving youth. We have a topflight, nationally recognized education program that offers the most innovative education and treatment opportunities for students with emotional disabilities. This includes:
• Experienced Teachers - our special education staff has many years experience treating special populations.
• Individualized Instruction, Innovative Treatment Design and Interventions - individually designed and based on differing learning styles to assist students according to their specific needs.
• Learning Opportunities - creative, meaningful, and productive.
• Applied Learning - utilizing a nationally-recognized animal program, as well as pre-vocational, music, and arts programs to build academic skills and help create opportunities for a well-rounded student.
• Assessment and Diagnostic - providing an excellent package that draws from educational, treatment, family, cultural, and vocational backgrounds
• IEP Creation and Implementation - a diligent process that creates an interactive working plan that not only helps a student while in placement, but also provides a road map when the youth returns to home district.
• Credit Recovery - individual programs which allow students to recover missing credits required for graduation.
• Academic Growth - pre and post testing of our students have statically shown significant academic growth.
• Wrap-around Care-we work diligently with the students’ home agencies and guardians to ensure individual needs are met with the best after-care.
• Success - upon discharge, most of our students require a lower level of care and in many cases, return to a public school setting.
I hope this information is helpful when difficult decisions need to be made regarding residential treatment options for the students you are responsible for. I would also like to take this opportunity to let you know that we have a limited number of bed spaces available immediately for our regular Psychiatric Residential Program, and also our Accelerated Recovery Program, which is designed to offer a shorter residential experience of 90 days.
If you have any questions or would like more information on our programs and opportunities, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time and support.
